Slow Cooker Recipes - French Dip Sandwiches

French Dip Sandwiches

a.. 1-3lb rump or round roast
b.. 1 packet onion soup mix
c.. 1 12oz. can or bottle of beer. (Dark varieties preferred)
d.. French bread or sandwich rolls

Add all ingredients to slow cooker/Crock Pot. Cook 8-9 hrs. on low. Slice the beef and place on toasted bread or rolls. The liquid left in the pot is the most flavorful au jus you've ever tasted.

Interesting that you picked this recipe today.

We recently tried a slightly different French Dip recipe that used the Crock Pot and were very impressed. (Rather than a package of dry soup/seasoning mix, it used one can of French Onion soup (condensed), one can of Beef Consommé (condensed), and then a bottle of dark beer. Otherwise it was the same.)

It came out quite well, and was a big hit particularly for something so easy.
